I began this painting of the television show "Babylon 5" back in 1998... just after my mom died.  It was acrylic and showed an obvious lack of skill.  I've recently removed it from a storage unit in California and decided to tweak it in oils.  I think it's coming along nicely.

Trying to paint with a bad cold.  I am blocking in the large areas of color... the fine details and the smoothing of the rough lines will come later.

Working on my two paintings.  "Sharp & No Flats" and "You Are Not Alone."  Both started back in 1998, but they were not as good as they could have been.  I am making them better.  Paintings by William J. M. McQueen.

My parents, Philip Thomas McQueen and Jeanne Billie Jackson-McQueen.  This photo was taken on their wedding day in New York, July 2, 1955.  My mom died May 20, 1998, and my dad died October 25, 2001.  I miss them both very much, and I post this picture in the hope that they will never be forgotten.

My dad found this old (and well used) artist palette, which I now use as a decoration.  Rest in peace, Dad.  I miss you.  From the studio of William J. M. McQueen.

Thus begins the tale of "Beyond Forever."  Story conceptualized and being written by William J. M. McQueen.  "Tales of the Prothiri" is going to be book number one in the series.

Success!

My reminder to myself.

My oil painting, "In Celebration."  It was the winning entry in the Santa Maria, California Centennial Geranium Art Contest in 2005, and is the official painting of the city's centennial celebration.  A special breed of geranium flower was created in honor of the city, and is sold nationwide.  They are the Santa Maria Centennial Geraniums.  William J.         The Prothiri.  The Prothiri are a major artificially intelligent species within the "Beyond Forever" universe.  They are ancient and powerful, their own origins forgotten in time.  Originally created by a peaceful, nature-loving race on a now dead world, they were created using instruments of nature itself.  Their original form consisted of wood, rock, crystal, and many other such natural elements, thus giving each Prothiri mechanism a direct connection to the physical world around it.  But as time moved on, their construction became more sophisticated, implementing more complicated and sturdier materials.
Now the Prothiri have evolved technologies to their ultimate form, and the central intelligence behind the cloth-like indestructible armor appears to be a form of living light.  Over time their directives have been corrupted by evil, and their missions appear to be those of destruction and deceit.  But could they be restored to their original mindset and become instruments of peace once again?  The answers are coming within the pages of "Beyond Forever: Tales of the Prothiri."  Story conceptualized by William J. M. McQueen.

I hate it when circumstances in life prevent you from doing the important things.  I also hate it when the people in your life you thought would support you are not there when needed most.

My good friend, Alfredo Torres, helped me work on a design for my Prothiri characters.  I think he did a marvelous job.  Thank you, Alfredo.
